Thailand: A Dream Trip Come True
Thailand had always been a bucket list destination for me, and in January 2025, I finally made that dream a reality. I spent 18 incredible days exploring this beautiful country — from the turquoise waters and stunning limestone cliffs of Phi Phi Islands, Ao Nang, and Railay Beach, to the rich culture and mountainous landscapes of Chiang Mai.This trip wasn’t just about the breathtaking scenery. Thailand’s natural beauty will stay with you forever, but what truly makes it unforgettable are the people. The Thai people are some of the kindest, most welcoming individuals I’ve ever met. Their friendliness and helpfulness made me feel at home right away — and made me want to come back again someday.
Island Adventures: Phi Phi, Ao Nang, and Railay Beach
My journey began in Krabi, where I checked into The L Resort, Krabi. The room with it's patio attached to the pool made you feel like you had your own private pool. The next day, I headed to the Viking Nature Resort on the Phi Phi Islands, where I spent my days soaking in the island vibes and a private long-tail boat tour! Don't do a group long boat when you can rent one all to yourself and feel so spoiled. These iconic wooden boats are not only the perfect way to reach hidden beaches and secluded lagoons, but they also give you a front-row seat to Thailand’s stunning coastline. The day was filled with crystal-clear water, vibrant snorkeling spots, and postcard-worthy views. I took a boat over to Railay Beach (only accessed by boat) and stayed at Sand Sea Resort, perfectly located for exploring Railay Beach, felt like I stepped into another world with its dramatic limestone cliffs and laid-back beach and monkey filled trails. Returning to Ao Nang I stayed at the BlueSotel SMART Krabi, with a private plunge pool this adults-only spot was perfect for a little relaxation before flying north to Chiang Mai.
The Culture and Spirit of Chiang Mai
I caught an easy flight to Chiang Mai and checked into the Akyra Manor Chiang Mai. This Hilton property was the bomb, soaking tub in the middle of the room that was surrounded by windows and a window that opened to the outside. The city itself is vibrant and fun, with gorgeous temples, bustling markets, and plenty of energy. But my favorite part of Chiang Mai was heading into the mountains and seeing a quieter, more authentic side of Thailand. The highlight of my entire trip was my visit to Chai Lai Orchid, where I got to experience elephants being treated with genuine love and care. Spending time with these gentle giants and seeing how well they were cared for was truly life-changing. If you ever visit Thailand, I can’t recommend this experience enough — it’s a memory that will stay with me forever. I stayed in the Garden Bungalow, which included a special photography package, where you get to feed the elephants from your bed, take a walk with them and even let them pop their head in while your in the bath!
Memorable Moments and Favorite Finds
Daily Massages: I completely indulged in affordable, luxurious massages almost every day — an absolute must in Thailand! Delicious Food: The food was beyond amazing — full of flavor, variety, and so inexpensive.
The Baht Factor: Thailand operates mostly as a cash society, and I loved feeling like a baller with a wallet full of baht! .Saying
Goodbye — For Now... My journey ended with a quick flight back to Bangkok, where I squeezed in some last-minute shopping, marveled at more stunning temples, and even stopped by a unique café where you can interact with wild! While Thailand’s landscapes are magical, it’s the warmth and generosity of its people that truly make it a place worth returning to. From the islands to the mountains, this trip was everything I had hoped for — and more. I can’t wait to come back someday and continue the adventure.
